Handling Laundry at Your Group Home

Although I have several refrigerators at my group homes, I only have one washer and dryer in each house.

The residents follow a schedule.

For example, on Mondays is room 1, Tuesdays is room 2, Wednesdays is room 3A & B, Thursdays is room 3 C & D, Fridays is room 4, Saturdays is room 5. Sundays are open for whoever wants to do laundry.

We post the schedule, and the residents follow it.... loosely. They're friends, so they talk to each other and decide who is going to do the laundry when.

The most important thing for you as a group home operator is to keep your washer and dryer maintained. You or your operations manager need to clean the machines regularly, on a schedule.
