The Power of Execution

Updated: Mar 21

Let’s talk about a key part of success in any business – execution. I’ve always followed this mantra: “Make a list and work it to completion.” It keeps things simple and manageable, and as Marie Forleo says, everything is “figureoutable.” If something feels impossible, it’s just because there’s a missing step.

One of my favorite books on execution is The 12 Week Year. This book was a game-changer for me, and it’s perfect for people who love setting goals and getting things done. The 12 Week Year is all about treating each 12 weeks like a “year.” You’re essentially creating a new set of goals four times a year instead of just once, which helps you accomplish way more in less time!

Here’s a story to show you how powerful this approach is:

When I was invited to speak at a leadership mastermind, I asked everyone to set their own 12-week goals. Everyone on the call declared a goal – and then the host turned the tables on me! I declared, right then and there, that I would open a second group home in 12 weeks. And I did it!

Making a goal public makes it real. Just like agreeing to meet someone at the gym makes it more likely we’ll actually show up. Having an accountability partner can make all the difference. If you’re looking for extra support and someone to keep you on track, I’d be happy to help. I love being part of your journey and am here to encourage you every step of the way!

Here’s another secret that made reaching my goals faster: outsourcing. Sometimes you can pay with money or with time, and when you can, pay for shortcuts! Hiring gig workers on platforms like Fiverr or Upwork can be a total game-changer. You’d be surprised at the wide range of tasks you can delegate—everything from sending Mailchimp emails to making follow-up calls and more. I didn’t even realize this world of gig workers was an option at first! But as I moved toward my 12-week goals, I found that delegating even a few tasks helped me stay focused and move faster. Let’s set big goals, find support, and use every resource to get them done!

With you all the way,
